So, I have this friend...
She goes out to lunch with us practically every day and she always has something to say about the despicable places that we chose to eat. She is the kind of person who is never without an opinion. So Larry, this girl, and I we decide to start a blog to review all the places we frequent on our lunchtime adventures. We are all very excited, almost giddy if you will. It begins with a glorious post from Larry, and then I follow with my post, and then we wait....and we wait...and we wait. The Crooked Bayou sadly becomes a lunchtime memory fading slowly away....and still she will not post. I can see that quaint little ramshackle of deep fried heaven floating a drift in the lonely little bayou awaiting a visit from the infamous Jenn....

Today I experienced a little slice of some Louisiana deep fried love right in downtown Orlando. And it was served up with a heaping basket of TATER TOTS!
As any of my little amigos will tell you, I usually dine on ham and swiss at lunch time. But today was something different. I don’t know if it was the cramped quarters, the simmering heat or the overly toned tattooed clad waitress that prompted me to stray from my usual entree. However, I am glad that I took a big ole leap of Bayou faith and ordered those chicken fingers. MMM, MMM YUM.
As if my chicken fingers, which were fried to an excellent shade of just past crispy, were not merely enough to make this meal a delicious lunch time fare, they decided to throw in some tater tots to seal the deal. These tots were glistening in their golden crunchy goodness, and let me tell you they were glorious! MMM, MMM YUM.
So with that, I will end this review right here, seeing as how the simple mention of tater tots should be all one needs to decide that they too would love a visit to the Crooked Bayou.

When one thinks of Orlando attractions they immediately imagine Disney World or Universal Studios. And I agree myself that theme parks are the bee's knees, but they are not the main appeal of O-town. We have more nightlife, cuisine, and action than Scott Baio had in 1981. But amongst all of these places there is one shining star in particular named the Crooked Bayou. When I go there I'm like a kid in a deep-fried candy shop. I never knew everything tangible could be breaded and turned into a delicious treat, such as their world famous fried pickles. But that's just the beginning. I know in your head right now you are creating an image of a run down, country music playing, hot and crowded shack. And if so that is exactly what it's like, except for one thing. While my taste-buds are cruising through the ride of their life my ears are rocking to the latest from Billy Joel or a party mix from R2D2. So head downtown right now and change your life for the better!
